How I became LinkedIn Top Voice in Two Weeks with Less Than 1000 followers

Guide #1 Identify your topic Visit the collaborative article list and select the skill you want to be known for.

I chose my areas of expertise — product development, product management, and business analysis.

You might choose graphic design, content writing, or SEO.

PS: Niche down. I started off with product management but found it crowded. So, I narrowed down to product development as it had lesser ‘competition’ , ie contribution.

2 Find articles to contribute **After you select your topic, click on it. LinkedIn will direct you to the list of collaborative questions under your skill topic.

You’ll find questions along with the number of contributions to them (by others) under each question. Like below.

PM collaborative articles Choose questions suitable to you and start contributing.

The fewer contributions an article has, the higher your chances of earning the badge. Aim to be in the top 5% of contributors to secure the badge.

**#3 Be unique, daily **Contribute daily using your experience and insights. Avoid using AI.

Your contributions will appear in your network’s feed. So, make sure you provide unique perspective to stand out and get more engagement.

Be authentic in your responses as they increase your chance of earning the badge.

When I started out, I set a reminder every day at 7 PM dedicated to contributing.

Find your comfortable time for two weeks to contribute. Dedicate 20 mins daily.

**#5 Track your progress **When you consistently contribute, LinkedIn will update your progress. And show how close you are to earning the badge.

For instance, I’m aiming to become a Top Voice in Product Management. As I’m contributing daily, my progress moved from 25% to 13%.

Screenshot by Author LinkedIn won’t notify you when you get the badge. So, keep an eye on your profile when you reach the top 5% of contributors.

#6 Next Step Post about your achievement when you get Top Voice badge to increase visibility.

But, continue contributing even after getting the badge as it’s reassessed every 60 days. This means if you stop contributing after becoming the top Voice, you may lose it after 60 days.

Top Voice Badge is one form of credibility, which also puts on visibility map.

Follow these steps, earn the badge and enhance your professional presence.
